The Simone Cesaretti Foundation fosters the conception and activation of web projects aimed at promoting a global sustainability culture and approaching youth by means of virtual interaction.
The PORTAL OF SUSTAINABILITY represents the tool conceived to ensure, through an integrated communications system, the offer of a store of knowledge on the main issues connected with development and advancing the promotion of a global sustainability culture.

After the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg between 26th August and 4th September 2002, international diplomacy is engaged in the preparation of a new conference promoted by the United Nations, entitled United Nations Conference of Sustainable Development (UNCSD).
The conference will focus on two key issues for sustainability:
- Green Economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty reduction
- An institutional framework for sustainable development
The Sustainability Portal dedicates this issue to insights regarding the topics that will be discussed in Rio interpreting them in light of its own idea: to point to the implementation of an integrated set of strategies to achieve a Green Society
Furthermore, in the awareness that the Marine Protected Areas are a key factor in implementing sustainable development strategies, the Foundation has created the MARINE PROTECTED AREAS site.

The Foundation is currently planning the Territorial Cultural Identities Observatory portal and the Parks and Nature Reserves portal in order to spread among young people a knowledge of territorial identities and to experiment virtual interaction with them on the key role of parks and nature reserves in pursuing sustainability.
